How each curriculum is read abroad
Each system maps differently onto entry requirements. The mapping — not the school's reputation — is what decides the shortlist.

Calendar
Where the deadlines fall in a Gulf school year
Both the UK and US systems close their most selective rounds in the first term of the final year — before mock exams and while predicted grades are still being set. That is why the essays and statement are drafted the summer before.

Residency and fees
Where mobility planning fits
A student's fee status, visa route and right to stay after graduating depend on the family's residency and citizenship, not just on the offer. Some European residency routes may affect eligibility for home or EU fee rates, and every destination has its own post-study visa rules.

Gulf students on the IB, A-Level, American or CBSE curricula each meet UK and US entry requirements differently, and the most selective deadlines fall in October, November and January of the final school year. Planning the subjects early and drafting the essays the summer before is what makes the calendar workable.
